Painter & Glassblower
Born December 15, 1993, Shannon Spruiell, was raised deep in the heart of Texas. Shannon graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors Degree in Studio Art and a minor in Psychology. The primary focus of her art in college was dedicated to art therapy and art used for healing. This is the reason why she declared a minor in psychology. This interest led her to an “Arts in Medicine” volunteer program at Covenant Hospital while attending Texas Tech University. In this art therapy program, Shannon made weekly visits to the hospital to assist with arts and crafts. This program was designed to lift spirits and stimulate creativity in the patients. Her involvement in this program furthered her passion to create murals and other pieces of art for the use of healing, happiness and well-being.
Texas Tech's wide range of art programs also lead Shannon to begin Glass blowing, which she fell in love with from day one.The adventure goes on today as Shannon works full time for The Glass Eye Studio in the beautiful state of Washington. She also continues to be employed by schools, doctors, and families to paint murals for their children and/or patients for encouragement and inspiration. She hopes to continue this theme of healing in both the paint and glass mediums in her new home, Seattle, Washington.
