2013 / Paint on Photographs
This series of photographs portrays what pain looks and feels like, and the scars that life can leave on us. When the raw images were photographed, there was no paint or marks on the skin of the models. Once the images were printed, acrylic paint was applied on them.
If our bodies could physically portray the emotions we feel inside, we would all have scars. Along with these, events that occur in life, such as abuse and illness, are the battles we all face can leave visible scars. However, scars can be beautiful if we choose to view them in that way. Life is figuring out the correct way to see our scars.
